Dr. James Taylor
Senior Pastor / Elder
James is an Arkansas boy who married a Georgia peach. He and Kara have been married since 2003, and together they have three lovely daughters (Hailey, Hannah, and Hadley). He loves the outdoors, cheering for the Razorbacks, and spending time with his girls. James was called to be the Senior Pastor of Red Lane in July of 2015 after serving churches in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, and Kentucky. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Divinity degree in Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Evangelism and Church Growth also from Southern. His deep desire is to see far from God people come to Christ, grow in Christ, and go with Christ in service of others.
Trevor Collazo
Associate pastor of worship and administration / Elder (2029)
Trevor is a Florida native who married his high school sweetheart. Trevor and Janelle were married in 2004 and have three sons (Zachary, Aiden, and Derek). Trevor and Janelle served as missionaries in Brazil for three years prior to moving to Central Virginia in 2009. Trevor has served as a teacher and administrator in multiple Christian Schools. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of North Florida and a Master's of Education from Liberty University. He is currently pursuing his Master's of Arts in Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Trevor loves all things food, travel, and music. His passion is to see the Kingdom of God displayed through healthy, Biblically-rooted local churches.
Taylor Hodgins
Associate pastor of students
Taylor grew up in Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay where his parents served as IMB missionaries for 17 years. It was through the influence of his youth pastor and mentor that God began to call Taylor into vocational ministry. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies and Intercultural Studies from William Cary University, he began pursing a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, he expects to graduate in 2027.
Jennifer Moffat
Discipleship Director for Children
Jennifer has been on the Red Lane staff since September 2014. She has a deep desire to see children accept Jesus as their Savior and grow in their personal relationship with Him. She and her husband, Josh, have three children, Jacob, Ben, and Olivia.
Kelly Elliot
Office Manager
Kelly and her husband Craig joined Red Lane in 2025 and joined the staff in July of 2026. Prior to working at Red Lane, Kelly worked as a project coordinator in the construction industry.

Steve Bradshaw
Elder (2029)
Steve has served our state convention (The SBC of Virginia) for 20 years in multiple roles. He currently serves as our Regional Strategist for the Central Region and he is the statewide Director of Evangelism and Ministry Resources. Steve was the pastor of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church in Zuni for 14 years.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Radford University, and a Master’s of Divinity Degree, with a concentration in Christian Education, from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Steve and his wife, Jan, have lived in Powhatan for the past 10 years. They have two sons: Josh and his wife Ann, Bryce and his wife Taylor, and a daughter, Hannah and her husband Holden. In his spare time, Steve enjoys yard work, tennis, and spending time with family and friends.
Alan Learned
Elder (2028)
Alan is an Oklahoma farm kid, who learned about God's majesty and glory while raising cattle and wheat where the wind comes sweeping down the plains. He has been married to a wife much better than he deserves, Sandra, for 43 years, and they have lived in Powhatan county for over 25 years. They have been blessed with three children and 1 grandson, all who live in the Virginia area.
Alan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Sterling College and a Doctorate of Organic Chemistry from the University of Utah. That same majesty and glory of God was also readily evident and reinforced throughout his years of fundamental chemistry research. Alan has retired after working at DuPont for 30 years, primarily in technology development and global technical leadership roles in Delaware, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Alan longs to see the light of God's grace and truth be reflected throughout our community and to the ends of the earth. He is active in our music ministry, firewood ministry, prison ministry, and children's ministry.
James Ambrose
Elder (2028)
James and his wife Kristine have been members of Red Lane since 2018. They have two children, Rayland and Juliet. James has served as deacon at Red Lane as well as in several roles in the Kid’s Ministry.
