Children's Ministry
From birth through 6th Grade our Children's Ministry provides a fun, safe and exciting learning environment. We have classes for children of all ages on Wednesday evenings as well as every Sunday morning at the 10:00 Sunday School hour. We also offer Children's Church for 3s, 4s, and 5s during our 8:30 and 11:00 services. On Wednesday nights our children are challenged to grow in the Lord through music and Bible teaching.
Our seasonal events include Vacation Bible School in the Summer, Harvest Celebration in October, Children's Christmas Events in December and our Discover Easter program in the spring. We also have additional progrmas for children of all ages during the summer. Details for our programs can be found on our
calendar. Children are a very big part of the Red Lane Family! Come check us out!
Once a year we offer a special class for elementary and middle school age children that have recently trusted Jesus as their Savior or are interested in doing so. The class focuses on what it means to trust Christ, baptism, church membership and the basic beliefs of the church. Check the bulletin or call the church office for more information.
We also sponsor Good News Clubs at Powhatan and Pocahontas Elementary Schools. Child Evangelism Fellowship makes child evangelism possible at the public schools by creating after school Bible clubs called the Good News Clubs. The clubs use snacks, games, music and Bible stories to lead children to Jesus.

ESL Ministry
English as a Second Language Ministry is growing! It is a privilege to be used to reach those who don’t speak English with the message of Christ. We teach ESL and the Scripture here in our building on Wednesday nights from 6:15 to 7:30 PM. Please pray for this ministry to be used for His glory! If you are interested in becoming involved in the ESL ministry please contact the church office. You don’t need to speak another language to teach English! Training seminars are held throughout the year for anyone interested in joining the ESL team. Call the church office for more information at 598-2455.
Community Ministry
Mission to Powhatan is a new mission initiative for our church for Powhatan County. Mission to Powhatan is designed to minister to people in our community with a variety of needs. This includes our elderly, underprivileged and handicapped neighbors needing assistance in such things as raking leaves, roof repair and general construction, as well as assisting in community clean-up and much more. These projects are hands on jobs that everyone in the family can participate in. As a neighbor is being served, the love of Jesus is being shared!
Prison Ministry
We go to Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month. We usually meet with a group of young men in a large room where we share prayer time, bible study and personal testimony, from about 8 to 8:45 PM and then we share some refreshments, snacks and fellowship with the men. Please pray and ask if the Lord would have you serve in this ministry and if so, you can meet us in front of the church at 6:30 PM.
Homeless Ministry
The second Saturday of every month we serve the homeless in
Richmond. We prepare bag lunches on Fridays to be delivered on Saturdays while we meet, greet and share Jesus with our homeless friends. Occasionally, we also deliver clothing, backpacks, toiletries and other necessities.
Care Ministry
This ministry is made up of Deacons that serve our church. When there is a need in our church family, the deacons are contacted directly by the person in need, through the church office or through Sunday School Leaders.
Drama Ministry
We are always inviting people to join our adult drama team to put on productions for seasonal celebrations and several short skits on Sunday mornings throughout the year. Practices for dramatic skits and other larger performances are ongoing. Please contact the church office or Charlotte Wilkins if you are interested in participating. Volunteers for set building and preparation are also needed.
